Help make Scotland a world-class place to start a business.
One of the key aims of Scotland’s National Strategy for Economic Transformation is to make our country a world-class place to start a business.
This work starts with connecting the world of startup enterprise with schools.
Some of the most successful businesses in the world started in startup incubators. Our interdisciplinary programme recreates this experience for school leavers, and teaches them the transferable skills deemed essential to succeed in an increasingly complex world.
Become a START partner, and you help create a country full of young and ambitious school leavers – and identify future star employees in the process.
START is a funded SCQF Level 6 accredited entrepreneurship programme that brings the experience of launching a startup business to S6 pupils in schools across Scotland.
Over the course of 16 weeks, school leavers learn the principles of design thinking and entrepreneurial mindsets to go on a journey to found their own startup, develop new products, commercialise their ideas, and pitch them to industry experts.
By partnering with us, you connect our pupils to the existing startup ecosystem in Scotland, and help us extend our impact to as many young people as possible.
We are proud to partner with the following organisations:

START is a fully-funded programme, thanks to the Scottish Government’s Entrepreneurial Education Pathways Fund.
In line with The National Strategy for Economic Transformation, this fund supports project-based and experiential entrepreneurial learning opportunities in Scottish schools.

Scottish EDGE is Scotland’s biggest business funding competition. The organisation aims to identify Scotland’s most exciting entrepreneurial talent.
Scottish EDGE’s volunteer mentors are all alumni of the programme. Their lived experience of developing, building, and scaling a startup is proving transformative to START participants.

Glasgow’s second oldest university, The University of Strathclyde is a leading international technological university.
Strathclyde connects START participants with Scotland’s thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem, and can access resources from Strathclyde’s Inspire Hub to deepen their learning opportunities.

We were delighted to partner with Morgan Stanley to run the Design Day for our 2024/25 cohort.
The Design Day is one of the key milestones in the START programme. Morgan Stanley employees were on-hand throughout the day to support pupils with valuable advice and practical insight on cutting-edge design principles.
