First START 2026-27 Design & System Sprint complete!

A HUGE week kicked off on Monday at the RBS Accelerator Hub in Edinburgh, where more that 60 school pupils gathered for the first of four regional Design & Systems Sprints for our 2026-27 programme!

The day was spent in Design Thinking workshops co-led by START alumnus Ruby Inns, Emily Provan, and Fanny Carolina Nunez Soriano, with an inspiring Founder Q&A from the amazing Steve Regis, Charlie Winton and Jenny Campbell. We are connecting the ecosystem to schools and fostering vital skills at scale. With 33 schools and more than 500 pupils involved across the country, our vision of building a truly national youth startup competition is closer than ever.

So much was accomplished in a single day – now we can’t wait to see what our young entrepreneurs build across the academic year before our Pitch Finals in March!

Huge thanks to the RBS team for hosting us so generously – especially to Steven Hamill, Julie Shaw-Binns, Abigail Ciaramella, Melinda O’Reilly and Abbie Edgar. It was so great to catch up with Michael Hutcheson, to meet Naomi Puri, and to be connected with Vicki Swan to discuss developing essential future skills for young people all over the country.
