In November, a group of START participants, from St Thomas Aquinas Secondary School, Duncanrig Secondary School, Chryston Secondary School, Notre Dame High School, St. Mungo’s Academy, Jordanhill School, John Paul Academy, the High School of Glasgow and Lourdes Secondary School, had a fantastic day at the EDGE26 Live Final in Edinburgh.
Watching seven business pitches firsthand was inspiring, offering valuable insights to help our students prepare for their own pitch final in March 2026. It was also great to see our pupils making the most of their chance to network during the breaks, seeking advice from startup founders, conducting interviews, and sharing their own ideas. Connecting schools to the startup ecosystem is an important part of our mission, and this marked a significant milestone for START.
However, a standout moment from the day was when our wonderful host, Kylie Reid, invited two of our students to share their ideas to a room full of entrepreneurs and startup founders. Watching them speak with such confidence and enthusiasm was impressive and truly unforgettable.
A massive thank you to Evelyn Macdonald and the team at Scottish EDGE for this opportunity and for continuing to support the next generation of entrepreneurs!
